We got 3D printed in Tokyo.
This is KAEKI 3D Harajuku, a tiny 3D figure studio on Takeshita Street where you can turn yourself, your partner, your family or even a special outfit into a miniature figure.
Instead of buying another magnet, keychain or random souvenir, this is the kind of Tokyo experience where the souvenir is literally you. You visit the studio, step into the scanner, hold your pose, and KAEKI captures your body in 360 degrees before turning that scan into a small full-colour figure.
It is strange, fun, very Harajuku, and one of the more unique things I’ve tried in Tokyo.

KAEKI 3D Harajuku experience guide
The main reason to visit KAEKI 3D Harajuku is that the experience feels different from a normal tourist stop.
You are not just walking into a shop and buying something off a shelf. You are part of the product. The studio scans you, creates 3D data from your pose, produces the figure, and then sends the finished piece to you once it is complete.
The scan itself is quick. KAEKI says the 360-degree scan takes about five seconds, so the actual capture process is much faster than you might expect. The fun part is deciding how you want to stand, what outfit you want to wear, and what kind of memory you want the final figure to represent.
This works especially well for couples, families, friends, graduation outfits, wedding memories, travel outfits, cosplay-style looks or anyone who wants a souvenir that feels personal.

KAEKI 3D Harajuku 3D scanning process
The KAEKI 3D Harajuku process is simple.
First, you make a reservation or visit the studio. On the day, staff explain the process, confirm who is being made into a figure, and help decide the size and production details.
Then comes the scan. You step into the scanner, hold your pose, and the studio captures your body from every angle. After that, KAEKI uses the scan data to create the figure model and produce the finished 3D printed piece.
The figure is not finished instantly. After production, the completed figure is delivered to your home, usually around one month later. That makes it more like ordering a custom piece than buying an instant souvenir.

KAEKI 3D Harajuku figure sizes and prices
KAEKI 3D Harajuku offers several sizes for human figure production.
Current listed prices for original human figures are:
7cm: ¥7,800
9cm: ¥12,800
12cm: ¥18,800
15cm: ¥26,800
18cm: ¥39,800
Prices are listed per person, and shipping is additional. KAEKI also notes that up to three people can be scanned together at the same time.
There are also deformed-style figures, pet figures, bust figures, glass case options and 3D data options, depending on what you want to make.
KAEKI 3D Harajuku tips before you go
The most important thing for KAEKI 3D Harajuku is your outfit.
Because the final figure is based on your scan, what you wear matters. Choose an outfit that feels like you, but avoid anything that might scan badly. KAEKI notes that highly reflective items may not be captured properly, very thin items like glasses can be difficult or breakable, and transparent materials may not reproduce the same way as real life.
It is also better to keep your face visible. Tie back long hair if it covers your face, and think about your pose before arriving.
For the best result, treat it like a mini photoshoot. Wear something memorable, choose a pose that feels natural, and avoid overcomplicating it with too many props.
KAEKI 3D Harajuku as a Tokyo souvenir
What makes KAEKI 3D Harajuku special is that the souvenir actually feels connected to the trip.
A 3D figure is not just another item with “Tokyo” written on it. It captures how you looked, what you wore and who you were travelling with in that exact moment. For a couple, family or group of friends, that makes it a much more personal memory.
It is also a fun content stop. The scanner, the sample figures, the process and the idea of getting “3D printed in Tokyo” all make it easy to turn into a short video or travel reel.
If you are already exploring Harajuku, Takeshita Street, Meiji Shrine, Omotesando or Yoyogi Park, this is an easy experience to add to the day.
